The certificate in Applied Liberal Studies is a 12-credit concentration of classes that focus on expanding students’ foundations in the humanities, arts, and social sciences. The sequence culminates in a capstone course in Technical and Professional Writing or an Applied Liberal Studies Seminar.
Students may apply up to 9 hours of transfer credit toward the certificate. To earn the certificate, students must earn a C or better in all courses included in the certificate and complete the certificate alongside their chosen degree.

Certificate Core
Students take 9 credits from the following list and at least 3 credits must be at the 3000-level. Students may transfer up to 9 credits which must be at the 2000-level or above.
Certificate Capstone
Students select 3 credits from the following to serve as the certificate capstone. Students must have completed 9-credits that count toward the certificate to enroll in either of these courses.
