Internships

Graduate Internships

Graduate students are eligible to take an internship and have it count towards their degree program credits. Typically, an internship would take place between the first and second year (over the summer). Students are required to enroll in EGN 5950 - Project and complete certain requirements in order to obtain credit for the internship experience.

International Students

For F-1 international students the internship serves as Curricular Practical Training (CPT), and requires prior approval. Students must submit a CPT Request and contact International Student Services (ISS) for authorization prior to beginning an internship.
Optional Practical Training (OPT) is an additional off-campus employment benefit that can be utilized by students that are ineligible for CPT or to secure employment after graduation. This benefit requires a fee and additional application with United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS), please contact ISS for guidance on the application process and additional criteria.
