EEL 4276 - Smart-Grid and Cyber Physical Security Credits: 3
Prerequisites: EEL3135 - Systems and Signals, MAD 2104 - Discrete Mathematics and EEL 4251 - Power System Analysis. Course Description: This course covers an overview of smart grid infrastructure, and management policy, including the integration of renewable resources, electricity market, and demand-side management, etc. The smart grid challenges and requirements will be extensively discussed, especially privacy, and cybersecurity. Digital communications, communication standards and Internet-of-Things in smart grids will be presented. Smart grid operation and management will be analyzed and demonstrated by simulation software, e.g. MATLAB-SIMULINK.
