Course Description: This course will survey American history from just prior to the initial exploration and settlement of the Americas to the period of Reconstruction. The course will discuss the English colonies in North America; the American Revolution; the United States Constitution; Antebellum America; the American Civil War; and Reconstruction. This course meets communication/writing-intensive requirements (W).
