MAC 1147 - Pre-calculus Algebra and Trigonometry

Course Description: A study of families of functions, their properties, and applications. Emphasis is on linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Additional topics may include absolute values, inequalities, and systems of equations. A significant focus is on mathematical modeling and the problem-solving process. This course is intended to provide the mathematical skills and conceptual understanding of functions needed for the calculus sequence.
