Course Description: The second of a two-semester sequence of physics for scientists and engineers. Content includes thermodynamics, Coulomb’s law, electric fields and potentials, capacitance, currents and circuits, Ampere’s law, Faraday’s law, inductance, Maxwell’s equations, electromagnetic waves, ray optics, interference and diffraction. Prerequisites: PHY 2048 - Physics 1 and MAC 2312 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus 2 Co-requisite: PHY 2049L - Physics 2 Laboratory
