AST 4217 - Stellar Astrophysics

Course Description: This course will cover the nature of stars including the classification of stars and stellar spectra. The properties of our sun will be used to provide perspective on other known stars. Steller evolution including star formation and the processes by which stars end their lifecycle will also be covered. This discussion will include stellar explosions and stellar remnants including white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes.
Prerequisites: PHY 3101 - Modern Physics
